Nigerian pepper soup

So today I made pepper soup, it went quite well and I'm quite proud especially given it was my first time. It tastes yummy! I'm going to tweak it a bit for next time, use less egusi and play around with the other bits of ingredients. I'll have it with yam, boiled yam. I'm not an amazingly huge fan of yam, like I wouldn't go out of my way to seek it as I would plantain, the sweet one, but it is a great staple and I'm looking forward to dinner time.

I always enjoy going to buy my African food stuffs, and today I even managed to work a bit of eye flirtation with a fellow customer in the boucherie! Yes that's right cheeky glances over the goat meat and tripe, this is my life!
Anyway next week (or the week after as I don't think I'll get the chance next weekend) I think I may change region and go central.

Ciao ciao!

Follow me, follow me, follow me

I've decided to make a range of African foods, once a week (or so) and try to blog about how I get on. A few weeks ago I made a okro and garden egg stew that went quite well, especially given that I hadn't made it for a while. I also made a normal chicken stew and have done some jollof rice too. So what I'll do is cook these things again as well. Today I'm doing Nigerian pepper soup for the first time.
Any suggestions of other dishes from across the continent are most welcome!

Ciao for now!
